Our AI differentiator

Meet Insta — the AI inside your guides

Every doc-automation tool generates a guide. Insta writes it cleanly the first time and fixes the rough edges before you publish — then answers questions across your entire library on demand.

Our differentiator

Insta writes every guide. Then reviews it.

Step descriptions, automatically

Insta writes a clear, varied description for every screenshot. No more monotonous “This opens…” / “This shows…” on every step.

Cleans up the rough edges

After each capture, Insta merges duplicate clicks, rewrites generic descriptions, and proposes section breaks. High-confidence fixes apply silently; judgment calls show up in a review panel.

FAQ

Questions teams ask about Insta

Insta is the AI assistant baked into InstaGuide. Every guide you record is written, reviewed, and searchable through Insta — you don't configure it, install anything, or wire in an API key on the standard plans. Insta does three things: writes step descriptions after each capture, reviews captures for rough edges before you publish, and answers questions across your whole guide library through an in-app chat.
After every capture, Insta runs a review pipeline. High-confidence fixes apply silently — adjacent duplicate clicks get merged, generic descriptions get rewritten with real workflow context, casing and punctuation get normalized. Subjective changes — voice normalization, section breaks between apps, context-aware rewrites — show up in a review panel where you accept or reject each card before publishing. Nothing surprising gets shipped without your approval.
Insta uses the captured screenshot AND the surrounding workflow context. Step 7 knows what step 6 was, what app the user is in, what element was clicked, and what typically comes next in similar workflows. Generic AI writes “This button opens a dropdown”; Insta writes “Assign the contact to a lifecycle stage — this drives the downstream automation.” Every step reads naturally without templated repetition.
Every guide in your library is indexed. Ask Insta a natural-language question — “Which guides cover Salesforce?” or “How do I refund an order in the admin?” — and it finds the relevant guides, quotes from the actual step text, and links you straight to the source step. It's not a chat with a generic assistant; it's search with citations across content your team already created.
Depends on your organization's setup. On personal plans, Insta uses a default provider we manage. On organization plans, admins can pick between Claude, Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Snowflake Cortex — or bring their own key. The behavior is the same across providers; the choice is about compliance, cost, and existing vendor contracts.
All of it — Free, Starter, Pro, Business, and Enterprise. Insta's step writing and review run on every plan. Ask Insta chat requires Pro or higher. BYO AI provider and custom model choice are on Enterprise.
Yes. High-confidence fixes apply silently by default; the review panel only surfaces subjective calls. If you want to skip even that, you can dismiss the panel and Insta ships the guide with only the silent fixes applied. The panel is there for teams that want editorial oversight, not a hard gate.
